NOW DC SOCIAL FORUM Information
Organize! EDUCATE! Mobilize!
These are the foundations of activism for social change. Participate in the NOW DC Social Forum so that everyone leaves NOW DC with new ideas, new contacts, new knowledge and new resources!
NOW DC education has three parts -- a direct action workshop organized by the Backbone Campaign, the Control the Corporations Conference organized by the Center for the Study of Response Law and the Social Forum organized by NOW DC. Information on each follows:
Doo-Occupy to Bail Out America Workshop & Action Preparation Schedule for March 30-April 3, organized by the Backbone Campaign. Register to attend all or part here.
Control the Corporations on April 2nd. To register for Control the Corporation go here: http://csrl.org (this will help plan food for the day).
The NOW DC Social Forum will hold workshops on April 3 through 5 and April 10 through 13 with 90 minute sessions starting at 9 am, 11 am and 2 pm. Lunch can be eaten between 1 and 2 pm. Here is the schedule of workshops and panels.
The NOW DC Social Forum will take place at Friends Meeting of Washington, DC (FMW). FMW is an historic quaker meeting house located at 2111 Florida Ave., NW near DuPont Circle. It is easily accessible by metro on the Red Line. In addition to the meeting rooms, there are beautiful gardens. There are many restaurants within walking distance or paticipants may choose to bring a lunch and eat in the gardens. We ask that participants clean up any trash they create. There is no smoking anywhere on the FMW campus. Please let FMW know that we appreciate the very kind donation of the use of their facilities.
PLEASE LET US KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE THERE! Send the number of people and the dates you will attend to rsvp@nowdc.org. Thank you. This will help with our planning.
There workshops schedules are almost full. If you want to submit a workship visit: NOW-DC Social Forum description and information about submitting a workshop proposal for the NOW DC Social Forum. If you would like to present a workshop, please send workshop proposal information to Workshops@nowdc.org. Deadline has passed. Submissions no longer excepted unless there is space.
